Landscape Renovation

The renovation and replacement of some of the bed shrubs and trees in the Association is presently underway.  The basic area where renovation will occur is located between the street pavement including tree lawns and the building sides closest to the street along South Point Trail, where fences shield air conditioning units located behind the fences.  The gazebo area and plants around some of the utility boxes will also be included in the plan.

The overall project design was undertaken by students in the Landscape and Turf Management Tech Prep program at Polaris Career Center and some of the production work is being performed by the students.  The course is designed to provide students with both high school and college credit while they participate in the program learning about various plants, trees, their care and the design of attractive gardens and properties.  We extend thanks to the Polaris for a great design and their production efforts.

The Association was able to purchase many of the plant materials directly from an area nursery, which reduced the overall cost of the project.  Plants may be stored at various locations on the property until they are installed and we ask that all persons keep a safe distance from any part of the work area.  Because of the renovation work and traffic on the lawns, the seeding of certain areas may be delayed until a later time.

Watering Lawns and Landscape

The Association Declarations require that unit owners water the lawn and landscape beds adjacent to their units.  A great deal of effort and funding has gone into the landscape project and newly planted or relocated plants will require periodic watering to permit them to become established and viable.  Rapid decline of these plants can occur if they are ignored.  Landscape beds that are not adequately watered by unit owners may be serviced by the Association with the costs assessed to the appropriate unit owner and may include the costs of replacement plant materials.  The process of enforcing the watering requirement can detract from the Association’s attention to other matters and we appreciate your cooperation in the upkeep of the aesthetics of your home and community.

Pets

When exercising your pet please remember the requirement to take a plastic bag or other tool to immediately remove pet waste from all parts of the property.  Care should be taken to walk pets on sidewalks or driveways when not in the area immediately adjacent to your home.  Pet leashes, stakes or chains also should not be secured to any part of the building or lawns.
